Clearbank is launched using Microsoft technology

The UK’s first new clearing bank in more than 250 years has been launched using Microsoft technology. Clearbank, a challenger to the Big Four incumbents, was launched on Tuesday with the aim of increasing competition in the sector and speeding up transactions. The company will use Microsoft’s cloud service, Azure, as well as its secure UK data centres.

Indegene and Microsoft announce strategic alliance

Indegene, a global healthcare solutions provider, and Microsoft are collaborating to deliver commercial cloud applications for life sciences. Dynamics 365 for Sales will combine with the Indegene Omnipresence platform to create a mobile, multichannel CRM solution specifically for sales and medical representatives to engage healthcare practitioners. The solution will help with digital content development and management as well as provide in-line analytics and optimisation to support the representatives.

Microsoft announces Surface Laptop

Microsoft has announced that its Surface Laptop will be available for purchase in June 2017. The laptop runs on Windows 10 S, a new edition of the operating system that only runs Microsoft Store applications and is designed to reduce management overheads.

The laptop weights 2.76lbs, is 14.47mm at its thickest point, uses a 13.5” PixelSense LCD touch screen display and comes with a 7th Generation Intel Core processor. Microsoft claims a battery life of 14.5 hours.
