Microsoft releases Analytics Platform System update

Microsoft has announced that the appliance update, Analytics Platform System (APS) 2016, has been released to manufacturing and is generally available. APS is Microsoft’s scale-out Massively Parallel Processing integrated system for data warehouse specific workloads.

The appliance update builds on SQL Server 2016 and offers additional language coverage to support migrations from SQL Server and other platforms. It also features improved security for hybrid scenarios and the latest security and bug fixes through new firmware and driver updates.

Microsoft releases SharePoint Server 2016 Feature Pack 1

Microsoft has announced the availability of Feature Pack 1 for SharePoint Server 2016. The Pack includes logging of administrative actions performed in Central Administration and with Windows PowerShell; MinRole enhancements to support small and medium-sized farms; a new OneDrive for Business user experience; custom tiles in the SharePoint app launcher; unified auditing across site collections on-premises and in Office 365; unified taxonomy across on-premises and Office 365; as well as OneDrive API 2.0.

Microsoft releases PowerApps and Flow

Microsoft has announced the general availability of PowerApps and Flow. PowerApps supports building web and mobile business applications without coding, while Microsoft Flow helps automate business processes through simple configuration. Both offerings are included in Office 365 (Enterprise, Business Premium and Essentials) and Dynamics 365.
