Microsoft has announced the worldwide General Availability of Dynamics NAV 2017, which is a business management solution for small and mid-sized businesses. The release includes embedded Power BI reports and dashboards; improved quote-to-cash-processes through integration with Microsoft Office; uses machine learning and Azure to enhance predictions and analytics; as well as support for customised cross-platform mobile applications for specific user tasks.

Microsoft releases Data Migration Assistant 2.0

Microsoft has announced the general availability of Data Migration Assistant v2.0, which replaces the previous SQL Server Upgrade Advisor tool. The Assistant is a free tool that checks database schema and static objects for breaking changes from prior versions. The tool provides the capability to move schema, data and uncontained objects, including user logins, from a source server to a SQL Server 2012, 2014 or 2016 target server, which can be on premise or in an Azure VM.

Microsoft releases Windows Server 2016

Microsoft has announced the general availability (GA) of Windows Server 2016. Windows Server 2016 includes software-defined capabilities to enable hybrid cloud as well as offer portability across datacentre, private and public cloud environments via virtual machine and new container formats. Microsoft has introduced the Azure Hybrid Use Benefit to allow Windows Server VMs to be run in Azure at a discounted rate.

Microsoft releases AD Domain Services

Microsoft has announced that Azure AD Domain Services is Generally Available (GA). Azure AD Domain Services provides managed domain services such as domain join, group policy, LDAP, and Kerberos/NTLM authentication that are fully compatible with Windows Server Active Directory. The service integrates with existing Azure AD tenants so users can sign in using their corporate credentials.

Microsoft releases Identity Manager 2016 Service Pack 1

Microsoft has announced that Identity Manager (MIM) 2016 Service Pack 1 is Generally Available. This release includes all previously released hotfixes as well as features like cross-browser support (including Chrome, Firefox and Safari on Mac and iOS devices), new product platforms (SQL 2016, Exchange 2016, Outlook 2016 and SharePoint 2016) and improved deployment options of the Privileged Access Management components.
