Microsoft has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Genee, an artificial-intelligence-powered scheduling service. Genee uses natural language processing and decision-making algorithms to make interacting with a virtual assistant the same as with a human one. Microsoft plans to incorporate these capabilities into Office 365.
Microsoft has announced that PowerShell is open sourced and available on Linux. PowerShell is a task-based command-line shell and scripting language built on the .NET Framework to help IT professionals control and automate the administration of the Windows, and now Linux, operating systems and the applications that run on them. The initial release is an “alpha” and is community supported. Microsoft plans to release an official version based on open source to anyone running a supported version of Windows or Unix.
Microsoft has released an updated version of SQL Server Management Studio. The update includes a new Active Directory authentication option, new PowerShell cmdlets to help perform SQL Server login management, initial beta support for high-resolution displays, support for filtering in the ”Databases” node of the Object explorer as well a range of bug fixes.

Microsoft has started its worldwide roll out of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Microsoft has announced the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update SDK, along with Visual Studio 2015 Update 3. The new SDK contains enhancements to the Universal Windows Platform and includes updated APIs for Windows Ink, Cortana and Windows Hello as well as improved Tools and Bridges for iOS and Android Developers.
