Microsoft has released a number of new security features to Azure Active Directory. These include a security wizard, a security dashboard, security alerts, security reviews, multi-factor authentication for privileged role activation and Office 365 workload-specific privileged roles.
Microsoft has released Visual Studio 2012 Update 5, which is primarily focused on the ability to update local workspaces after a team project is renamed. This supports the Team Project Rename feature introduced in Team Foundation Server 2015.
Microsoft has announced the availability of the Nokia 222 and Nokia 222 Dual SIM, which are new low-cost Internet-enabled feature phones. The phone has a 2-megapixel camera, supports MicroSD cards of up to 32 GB and has built-in SLAM technology, which enables file sharing using Bluetooth.
Microsoft has announced the availability of SharePoint Server 2016 IT Preview and the new cloud hybrid search preview for SharePoint Server 2013 and 2016. SharePoint Server 2016 is built on the same core platform as SharePoint Online. The new version provides improved performance and scale with simplified management as well as support for developer to build for cloud or on premise.
Bing has announced that its knowledge and action graph will be available to developers via a new API. The API exposes data from the Bing knowledge and action graph and allows developers to expose relevant information within their apps. Developers need to request access to this API via email.
Microsoft has released Technical Preview updates for Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016. The updates include the first public preview of Windows Server Containers as well as the introduction of new Nano Server functionality and software-defined datacentre enhancements.
Microsoft has announced the release of the Microsoft Universal Ad Client SDK, which supports video interstitial ads and ad mediation. The SDK is available for Windows devices, including Windows 10 phones, tablets and PCs as well as supporting Windows and Windows Phone 8.1 apps. The ad SDK is built using native code, so does not require .NET runtime.
Microsoft has released an updated version of its Azure DocumentDB Data Migration Tool, which is an open source solution that imports data to DocumentDB, the Azure NoSQL document database service. The updates include improved speed by partitioning the data across multiple collections during import, enhanced support for importing CSV files as well as reading from and writing to multiple DocumentDB collections.
Microsoft has announced that the Azure Data Factory (ADF) is generally available. ADF is a fully managed cloud-based data integration service that orchestrates and automates the movement and transformation of data.
Microsoft has released the final version of Team Foundation Server 2015 (TFS). TFS has improvements throughout the development process with an emphasis on DevOps capabilities. Enhancements have been made to Agile Project Management, the TFS build system, continuous delivery, Team Projects can now be renamed, Git tooling as well as extensibility capabilities for improved integration.
