Microsoft has announced the release of Outlook for iOS and a preview of Outlook for Android. The app integrates email, calendar, contacts and files and is intended to make it easier to deal with email attachments.

Microsoft has unveiled a preview of Power BI, a cloud-based business analytics service. Microsoft has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Revolution Analytics. Revolution Analytics is a commercial provider of software and services for R, a programming language for statistical computing and predictive analytics. Microsoft said that it will continue to support and evolve both open source and commercial distributions of Revolution R across multiple operating systems.
Microsoft has announced that Dropbox is available as a free app for Windows Phone devices (8.0 or higher) and Windows tablets and PCs running on Windows RT and Windows 8.1.
Microsoft has started deploying the Lumia Denim Update to Windows Phones. The update combines Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 with specific Lumia features that include Cortana (Beta and Alpha versions available in more countries), Live Folders, updated Glance Screen, IE enhancements and consumer VPN. This will be a phased rollout over a period time.

Microsoft has updated its Android Azure Authenticator application that includes Multi-Factor Authentication and adding a “Work Account” (the end-user facing term for an Azure AD Account) to Android devices. Employees can add a Work Account on Android to register their device in Active Directory. This enables administrators to enforce authentication of both the user and their device before the user is given access to sensitive resources.
Microsoft has released Skype 5.9 for iPhone, which includes UI improvements to both the dial pad and new chat picker.
Microsoft has launched two competitively priced smartphones – the Lumia 435 and the more powerful Lumia 532. Both phones will begin rolling out in February in select countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East and Africa.
